Council approves multiple appropriations and transfers including APS donation and laptops for case managers

Davis County commissioners approved a bundle of appropriations and transfers covering donations, grants and equipment purchases during a single meeting session.

Appropriations and transfers approved included: - APS funds: The council appropriated carryover funds totaling $10,008.87 plus a $5,000 donation previously received from DuBois County for Adult Protective Services (APS) operations. Abby, representing APS, told the council the $10,008.87 were carryover funds from 2024 and the $5,000 was a donation received in April; the State Board of Accounts required formal appropriation for audit purposes. "I'm just asking that they be appropriated so that the money can be spent," Abby said. Commissioners approved the appropriation on a motion by Commissioner Matt, seconded by Commissioner Mike Sprinkle. - Laptops for case managers: Laura requested laptops for case managers who lacked them. She presented two quotes and said the Dell option was nearly $2,000 cheaper and offered a preferred warranty and next-day ship service.
