Board approves travel, appoints citizen advisory member and auditor-selection chair

The School Board of St. Lucie County approved two out-of-district travel requests and made two appointments during its Aug. 12 meeting. Board members voted 5-0 to approve travel for a board member to attend the GFC SB meeting Aug. 28-29 in St. Petersburg, Florida; Mr. Ingersoll moved the motion and Miss Harrison seconded. The board also approved travel for Miss Theresa Lisonbee to attend the FSBA Policy Governance and Bargaining 101 conference Sept. 18-19 in Gainesville, Florida; that motion passed 5-0. The board appointed Casey Blair to a citizen advisory committee; the motion was seconded by Miss Holly and passed 5-0. Board members also nominated and approved Miss Debbie Holly to serve as chair of the external auditor selection committee; Holly accepted the nomination and the board approved it by voice vote. Meeting minutes record that each motion complied with the referenced rules of the Florida Board of Education and that the actions carried without opposition. No additional conditions or amendments were recorded.
