Committee members on Aug. 13, 2025, voted to forward the clerk's proposed FY26 budgets for document storage, court automation and the jury commission to the county finance office for further review.
The clerk explained line-item adjustments across several attachments. The department head asked the committee to consider a 6% request for an administrative assistant (instead of the 4% included in the budget policy) and clarified that a separate personnel request form must be filed for any compensation changes outside the county's approved budget policy. "I am asking for 6% instead of 4%," the clerk said.
Other changes described included reductions to stationery and photocopying because of a technology grant covering fees for five years, an expected drop in citation start-up costs compared with the prior year, and the possibility of removing off-site jury expense lines that have not been used since COVID.
After questions about specific line items and whether personnel requests are approved at this meeting, the committee agreed to pass the documents on to finance and to hold any extra personnel approvals until personnel forms are submitted and reviewed in the next cycle. A motion to pass document storage, court automation and jury commission budgets to finance carried on a voice vote.
