Pasadena ISD trustees approve administrative personnel addenda, introduce new hires

PASADENA, Texas — The Pasadena Independent School District Board of Trustees on Aug. 12, 2025, approved addenda items A through F that implement several administrative personnel appointments and introduced the newly hired and promoted staff.

Trustee Nelda Sullivan moved to approve the addenda items during the special meeting at the district administration building; Trustee Casey Phelan seconded the motion. Board President Kenny Fernandez called for the vote and members present responded “Aye,” and the motion carried. The board recessed to closed session under the Texas Government Code and reconvened in open session at 5:53 p.m., then proceeded to the personnel approvals.

The board recognized or approved the following appointments as announced at the meeting: Elizabeth Cardona — counselor at South Houston Elementary School; Rita Yarbrough — speech-language pathologist; Angela Afante — specialist, bilingual ESL for academic achievement for the remainder of the 2025–26 school year; Jessica Rios — coordinator for curriculum and instruction for the remainder of the 2025–26 school year; Lindsay Du — data coordinator in the Program and Support Achievement department (not present at the meeting); and Carrie Stink — principal at Dobie High School. Board members introduced the appointees and invited them to stand to be recognized.

The board noted there were no public comments related to open-session agenda items, citing policy BED(Local). The meeting opened at 5:30 p.m. and closed at 6:01 p.m.
