CMCSS board hears first read to extend retiree insurance benefit through fall 2029

Melissa Isaac, a staff member, delivered a first read recommending the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) extend its retiree insurance benefit through fall 2029. "As of September 1, we will have 169 CMCSS retirees participating with an annual board cost projected at $793,051.05," Isaac told the board.
The recommendation, presented as an annual review of retiree participation, would continue the district's existing retiree insurance plan through fall 2029. Isaac told the board the district reviews retiree participation every year and described the benefit as "a very valuable benefit."
Board members asked no substantive questions during the first read; the meeting moved on to the next agenda item after the presentation. No formal vote or directive was taken at this session.
The item will return to the board for further consideration in a subsequent meeting, where a motion or resolution would be required to adopt the extension formally.
