Road department prioritizing emergency repairs after heavy rains; routine maintenance delayed

He said personnel have been called out on weekends and nights to make roads passable and that the emergency work has delayed chip‑seal and other capital projects.
Mike described use of borrowed or rented equipment — for example, a rented dozer to clear upstream debris — and showed photos of large trees removed from roadways. He said the department is hiring and training new equipment operators, has started mowing in Ridge Road and San Lorenzo areas, and is preparing to move to scheduled special projects once paperwork and materials arrive.
Commissioners thanked road crews for rapid emergency responses and photos demonstrating work progress. Mike asked for patience from constituents while crews shift between emergency repairs and routine maintenance.
