County hires TGE/Gardner Engineering for 2550 South roadway design

Ashley Toman, county staff, said the contract covers Phase 1 (to 100 West) and includes a preliminary design for a Phase 2 segment from 4300 West to 4700 West so the county will have elevations and design preparedness if adjacent developments trigger improvements. Toman told the commission the project funding includes Wasatch Area Council of Governments (WACOG) funds, county sales tax revenue and impact fees to meet local match for design and future construction.
Commissioners voted to approve the contract; no commissioner opposed. County staff said the preliminary design work for Phase 2 does not obligate the county to immediate construction and is intended to shorten the timeline if future development requires road improvements.
