The head coach of the Girard Warriors youth track club updated the commission on national competition results, noting multiple top-20 finishes and three All-American placings, and thanked the county for sponsorship support.
Nate Clevenger, head track coach for the Girard Warriors youth club, briefed the Crawford County Commission on the team's results at recent national competition and thanked the commission for sponsorship support.
"We had 15 top-20 finishes by 14 different individuals this year with 1 of those being a relay," Clevenger said during the Aug. 5 meeting. He reported that three individuals earned All-American status by placing in the top eight: Reese Franklin finished second in the 15-16 girls high jump with a 5-foot-7 clearance; Quinn Clevenger placed fourth in the 13-year-old pole vault with a 6-foot-6 clearance; and Reece Clevenger placed seventh in the 17-18 race walk.
Clevenger listed additional top-10 and top-15 results, including team relay placements that narrowly missed top-eight standings. He described how national meet experience helped athletes perform at state-level competitions and praised participants across age groups from pre-K through 18.
Commissioners congratulated the team and expressed appreciation for the presentation; no formal county action was required or taken beyond recognition and thanks.
