Crawford County commissioners set the 2025 budget hearing for Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. and directed staff to publish the required notices. County staff said statutory publication requirements mean the hearing date must be set now so notices can be printed the required number of times. Separately, staff discussed an advertising and survey campaign administered by Josh’s team: newspaper ads are scheduled to run through early August, and staff said Josh suggested an application/submission deadline around Aug. 15 so that tabulation can be completed and results presented to commissioners in early September. Commissioners discussed radio, TV and billboard placements and noted some billboards and electronic signs had already run. The commission also scheduled administrative items: the canvass for a small primary will be Aug. 12 at 9:30 a.m., and a groundbreaking ceremony for Sugar Creek Child Care Center is set for Aug. 4 at 10:30 a.m.; commissioners said one or more may attend. Staff will publish the budget hearing notice and continue work sessions on the budget before the hearing.
