Facilities staff presented a districtwide solicitation for landscaping and grounds maintenance and recommended awards split by location to balance quality, cost and proximity. "We split it out by location," the presenter said, noting the district—s objective to keep vendors geographically clustered for efficiency.
Under the recommended awards, Yellowstone Landscape Central would maintain the high school, athletic complex and Shady Shores Elementary; MainScape would retain maintenance of the remaining campuses and auxiliary properties, including transportation and maintenance facilities. The board approved the multi-vendor approach by unanimous vote.
Trustee Baird asked whether bidders supplied separate quotes by location; staff confirmed each vendor submitted per-location pricing and that the selection considered price, qualifications and reputation. The contracts are structured as five-year agreements with annual renewals.
