Board approves five-year HVAC maintenance and controls contracts split by campus

Facilities staff requested board approval of districtwide contracts for HVAC preventive maintenance and building-automation controls. "For this agreement, it is a 5 year term that renews, each year," the presenter said, describing a structure of one-year renewals for up to five years.
Trustees were told the solicitation split services by facility so the district could award contracts based on quality, price and geography. The recommended awards assigned a set of campuses (including the high school and athletic complex) to Efficient Facilities International, Inc., and other campuses (including the middle school, Lake Dallas Elementary and auxiliary facilities) to Reliable Plant Maintenance; TDI was recommended and selected to provide building-automation controls districtwide.
The board voted unanimously to approve the contracts as presented; the motion carried without substantive discussion.
