Major high-school renovations substantially complete; back-entry and performance hall nearing finish

Construction overseen by the district and contractors is largely complete on high-school renovations funded by the bond program; the Career & Tech building, band/choir spaces and athletic facilities are in use while the performance hall, TV studio and back entry remain weeks from completion.
Wes Eversole presented a construction update on the district—s bond-funded projects and said most work is substantially complete and ready for the start of school. "The building's ready for our students to come back on Wednesday," Eversole said, while noting a few remaining punch-list items for the performance hall and TV studio.
Eversole reviewed completed work: band-hall and choir renovations, tennis courts, the Career & Technical Education building and classroom technology upgrades. He showed photographs of the robotics lab, food lab, welding shop, law classroom conversion and other CTE spaces. He said the district completed major security and vestibule upgrades during the project and credited architects VLK and contractor Crossland for the work.
Eversole said some outdoor and back-of-building landscaping and site work were slowed by June rains but that the back entry would open for student arrival on Wednesday and that the entry to the football field would be finished in about two to three weeks. Trustees thanked construction staff and local leaders who participated in planning the multi-year project.
