Council appoints Jay Albright to hospital board, reappoints two to tree board

Cookwell City Council appointed Jay Albright to the Cookwell Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees and approved two reappointments to the city tree board during its July 17 meeting.
City staff reported that Sheryl Sandlin’s seven-year term on the hospital board expires at the end of the month and that the council is responsible for making the appointment. Councilman Walker nominated Jay Albright; Vice Mayor Eldridge seconded the nomination. The motion carried 4-0.
The council also reappointed Douglas Earhart and Sid Bundy to the tree board. Both agreed to serve another three-year term scheduled from July 1, 2025, to July 1, 2028. Councilman Walker moved the reappointments and Vice Mayor Eldridge seconded; the reappointments passed on a 4-0 vote.
Council members thanked residents willing to serve on important community boards. No formal discussion or objections were recorded.
