Trevor Lansdowne and project management staff told commissioners the county has not updated a county master plan since 2004–05 and recommended a new master plan to set executive-level strategic goals, align departmental priorities and limit duplicate or reactive projects.

“The last master plan was 2004 and 02/2005. So 20 years, since we've had master plan,” the project-management presenter said, adding that a modern master plan could be a living document, refreshed periodically to reflect technology-driven changes in departmental needs and future growth as the county’s status evolves.

Project management also requested two county vehicles to support department operations; the presenter said the department currently uses personal vehicles. Commissioners reacted positively to the master-plan idea and asked staff to develop scope and cost details to inform the FY26 budget process. No formal action was taken at the workshop.
