Cookwell City Council on July 17 adopted Resolution R250711, which sets a single, standard application form and process for citizens who wish to be considered for appointments to city boards and commissions.
City staff said the policy is intended to provide the mayor and council a consistent pool of applicants for multiple boards and commissions. Applications will be made available on the City of Cookwell website and can be obtained from the city attorney's office, staff said. Completed applications will be retained for a minimum of seven years.
The resolution makes clear the application is not mandatory for council appointments; the council retains discretion to appoint any appropriate candidate. City staff thanked Councilman Walker for his role in drafting the suggested policies and procedures.
Councilman Walker moved to approve Resolution R250711; Vice Mayor Eldridge seconded. The motion carried 4-0.
