Sussex County Council on Aug. 12 approved the appointment of Phil LaTorra to the Sussex County Board of Adjustment and Appeals for a four‑year term effective immediately.
County Administrator Todd Lawson read the appointment and said the opening is for District 3 on the Board of Adjustment and Appeals, which hears appeals of decisions by building code and housing code officials. Ms. Grunbaum moved the appointment; Mr. McCarran seconded. The motion passed on voice vote.
The council did not discuss additional qualifications or background for LaTorra at the meeting beyond the motion on the record. The appointment takes effect immediately and fills the District 3 seat as announced.
