A staff presenter said Athletico approached the district with staffing constraints and proposed guaranteeing 30 hours for the second FTE while continuing to provide services through the remainder of the contract year. The district official said Athletic Director Justin Cooper considered the arrangement workable but staff will monitor the situation over the next few months to ensure student needs are met. The contract is in its final year of a two-year arrangement, staff said, and the committee discussed that they will have a better sense of whether to seek a new partner by spring.
Committee members asked about student impacts and urged proactive monitoring if service gaps appear. No formal board action was taken during the committee meeting; staff will report back if problems arise and will consider alternatives if Athletico cannot meet the service level requirements.
