Facilities and Finance Committee members were briefed Aug. 10, 2025, on an amendment to the athletic training services contract with Athletico. The vendor notified the district it cannot guarantee 40 hours per week for the second full‑time equivalent trainer and expects to provide about 30 guaranteed hours instead for the remainder of the contract year.
Committee members asked whether the reduced hours would affect student athletes. Facilities staff said Justin Cooper, the new athletic director, "feels that it's a workable solution" and that the district will monitor services over the coming months and reassess before contract renewal. Staff noted this contract is in its final year of a multi‑year arrangement and that the district can reassess service levels during future procurement cycles.
No formal committee vote was recorded; staff will watch implementation and report back to the board if service gaps occur.
