District staff told the Program Personnel Committee on Aug. 11, 2025, they plan to amend 10‑ and 12‑month administrator contracts to align several benefits with recently negotiated teacher contract provisions.
Bridal (district staff) said the amendments would update sick‑day, bereavement and parental‑leave language, extend sick‑day retirement payments to administrators who declare retirement, and increase a Tier‑2 TRS tax‑shelter annuity match from $1,600 to $1,700 for four administrators. "There's about 50 administrators, 10 and 12 month administrators," Bridal said when asked who would be affected.
When a committee member asked about financial impact, staff said the Tier‑2 match change would affect four people and could increase district costs by roughly $400 total for that match; other costs for additional sick or bereavement leave were described as difficult to quantify and likely minimal because 12‑month administrators do not require substitutes. Bridal said the $1,700 figure had already been included in the district’s budgeting tool because Tier‑2 figures were applied systemwide in the calculations.
Committee members asked for clarity about which administrators are in scope and whether the changes were consistent with past practice; staff said these amendments follow prior practice of extending comparable teacher contract benefits to administrators when teacher contracts change. The committee did not take a formal vote; staff will bring the contract amendments to the full board for action.
The record contains no formal motion or vote at the committee meeting; planned next steps are to include the administrator amendments on the Aug. 25 board meeting agenda.
