William Hanson, a River Falls resident, told the City Council during public comment that Junction Falls hydro produced more than 110,000 kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity in July, its highest monthly production of the year. Hanson said the plant “produced over a 110,000 kilowatt hours of electricity renewable electricity in July. This is our highest monthly production of the year and continues on track to produce over 1,000,000 kilowatt hours of electricity in 2025.” Hanson framed the output as beneficial both “for the environment and for our electric utility rate payers.” No city staff presentation accompanied the comment during the meeting, and council members did not take any formal action on the statement during the meeting.
