The complainant said fence posts had been installed in the tree belt and that previous related applications were withdrawn in 2022.
Commissioners discussed whether the fence posts in the tree belt were under the historic commission’s jurisdiction. City counsel advised that tree‑belt matters are not within the commission’s purview and therefore enforcement or removal of posts in the tree belt is a matter for other city departments; the commission confirmed it would not take action on tree‑belt placement. The commission approved the shed application as presented and asked the applicant to notify staff if site conditions change.
