County authorizes designated signer for River Suites purchase; closing set for Aug. 11

At a public meeting, the Cowlitz County Board of Commissioners authorized Mike Moss to act as the county’s designated signer for the negotiated purchase of property at River Suites.
Savannah Clement, deputy director of public services, told the board that the title company required a written document confirming the board’s authorization and that the county had drafted a letter with three signatures. Clement said the price and terms had not changed and that staff were targeting a Monday, Aug. 11 closing date.
Commissioner (unnamed) moved to authorize Mike Moss as the designated signer; after the motion was seconded, the board voted in favor. “Those in favor, aye,” the chair called. A voice vote followed and the chair declared, “Motion passes.”
No additional conditions or amendments were recorded in the meeting minutes; county staff said the letter will be provided to the title company and the closing process will proceed under the agreed terms.
