At the Aug. 7 Columbia County Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, Vice Chair Jim Steed announced that Trey Allen has resigned from the commission and said Steed intends to run for that seat in the next election.
Steed told the commission that because he plans to run for the position, he will need to resign from the Planning and Zoning Commission and therefore was making a public announcement of his resignation intent. He thanked staff and his fellow commissioners and said he would miss serving.
Commission members responded with short expressions of support.
