The Homewood Finance Committee on Aug. 4 carried over a request for the city manager to execute an ALDOT traffic signal lighting maintenance agreement related to the Divergent Diamond Interchange (DDI) project.
Why it matters: the agreement would assign responsibility for maintenance of new traffic signals installed for the DDI project. Committee members said they did not want to execute an agreement until the committee reviews the DDI bid and final signal work.
Discussion: Committee members agreed to postpone action until the next finance meeting, when the divergent diamond bid and related maintenance obligations will be discussed. One member said he would “hate to execute an agreement before we know when” the signals and associated obligations will be installed.
Outcome: item carried over for further review; no agreement was executed at the meeting.
Ending: Staff will present the DDI bid and proposed maintenance agreement at the next finance committee meeting for committee action and possible authorization.
