On Aug. 11 the Homewood City Council took a series of administrative actions: it voted 10-0 to register no objection to issuance of an ABC retail beer and wine license for Seeds Coffee Homewood LLC; it set multiple public hearings for Aug. 25 to consider nuisance declarations at several properties alleged to violate health and sanitation or other local ordinances; and it set a public hearing for a proposed tax-incentive agreement for a Piggly Wiggly redevelopment project, also on Aug. 25. Councilors reported positive reviews from police and fire for the Seeds Coffee license before approving the recommendation. Several nuisance properties were scheduled together for the Aug. 25 hearing, and staff will publish notice and provide hearing materials as required by ordinance. The council also noted a separate rezoning application had been withdrawn and was dropped from the agenda.
