Dalton honors 10 summer interns who worked across village departments

Ten student interns who spent the summer working in Village Hall and several municipal departments were honored by Dalton officials at a closing event this summer at Saint Patrick's Rooftop and Steakhouse. The interns, placed in roles across the Village Hall, the Police Department and the Water Department, performed tasks described by village staff as organizing records, doing data entry and providing general department support. Village leaders presented certificates of completion to each participant. The event included a guided tour of the rooftop venue and remarks of thanks from village officials and community leaders. Mayor Jason House, Clerk Lisonbee Key and Doctor John Long presented certificates and recognized the interns’ participation. Village officials identified Aris Montgomery as a mentor who provided day-to-day guidance for the program. The board of trustees and village representatives said the program aimed to provide practical workplace experience and mentorship for young residents. The presentation of certificates and the closing celebration were ceremonial; no formal policy actions were taken during the event. Program organizers described the occasion as both a conclusion of this summer’s placements and a starting point for participants’ professional development.
