Aubrey, a planning staff presenter, told the commission that "we produce an update of this report every spring and we've been doing so since the eighties" and that the report summarizes building permits, rezonings and subdivisions across Knox County for the 2024 calendar year. The presentation said residential permitting rose 53.9% compared with 2020 figures, while nonresidential permitting fell slightly, by about 1.4%.
