Barrett Spores, director of Health and Human Services, said state statute requires clinical supervision and signed care plans for children's mental health case managers to provide services and bill Medical Assistance. The contract term is Aug. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2026, and the cost will be paid from the family social services budget (line 11-430). Spores told the board the arrangement mirrors a prior contract approved earlier this year; the previous supervisor, Ashley Hubbell, died earlier in 2025.
Commissioner Schmoll moved approval; Commissioner Wright seconded. Commissioners asked whether the new contract was essentially the same as the previous arrangement; Spores said it was, with a small increase in hours because a staff member is new to children's case management and may need additional supervision.
The board approved the contract by voice vote; the motion carried.
