During its Aug. 13 meeting, the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission approved a slate of routine land-use items, forwarding standard recommendations to the Board of Supervisors where applicable.
Items approved with staffrecommended standard conditions included a rezone to allow a storage warehouse in the Beaver Dam vicinity (assessor's parcel 40265002), a special-use permit to allow model homes in the Deal Ranch subdivision prior to final plat approval (assessor's parcels 12007097, 098 and 099), a rezone to allow an RV as a temporary residence in the White Hills vicinity (assessor's parcel 32905038), and a rezone to bring a Dolan Springs property into compliance by changing AR-5 zoning to AR-2 standards (assessor's parcel 31611060H). The commission also approved a minor-land-division rezone request near Kingman (AR-36 to AR-5) and a general-plan and rezone request for a Kingman-area property to permit a residential subdivision.
On item 8 the commission recommended rescission of Mohave County Board of Supervisors Resolution 2017-156, which had approved an earlier rezone (assessor's parcel 24319011) for which the conditions of approval were not met. Staff recommended rescission and the commission approved that recommendation.
One public commenter spoke against an early-model-home allowance in Deal Ranch, suggesting developers should not place model homes before all final-plat requirements are met; the applicant for Deal Ranch answered commissioners' questions and said construction documents were approved and construction was underway, and staff confirmed the final plat had been reviewed and would be recorded after required improvements were completed.
All listed items carried on voice votes recorded in the meeting minutes; where specific vote counts or individual no votes were not stated in the transcript, the commission recorded the items as carried.
