A select board member explained that the donated items are portable, battery-powered tools used for vehicle extrication and stabilization and that the batteries are interchangeable with the department's other tools. "These are all battery powered first tools, The station 2... the cutter is where they get into a vehicle... The ram... it's like stabilization," the speaker said.
At the public hearing the board cited RSA 3195E as the authority to accept the personal property donation. A motion to accept the donation was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board noted the tools had already been placed at the new station and that the donor organization is the Swanton Center Fire Company Association. No budgetary impact to the town was reported at the meeting.
