Airport staff told the board Aug. 12 that fuel flow fee collections have risen since CloudNine became the FBO. As of Aug. 1, staff reported $12,553 in fuel revenue for 2025 to-date, representing a 79.3% increase compared with the prior FBO's collections in 2023. CloudNine's two-year projection was $19,000 annual fuel revenue; staff said CloudNine collected nearly $21,000 in its first year and is on track to meet projections for the second year.
Staff cautioned that fuel sales often fluctuate seasonally and that collections may decline in fall and winter. The director said the FBO's performance improved relative to 2024, noting accounting and fuel-delivery timing differences that affected year-to-year comparisons.
Separately, staff said the airport was well represented at EAA AirVenture in Wisconsin. The airport director, a board member and the city manager met state Department of Aeronautics and commerce officials, met with businesses interested in expansion, and connected with tenants who visited the state booth. The director said he also discussed potential training opportunities with Vanderbilt University and Delta Airlines and noted an upcoming presentation by the state ODAA director at the joint Sept. 12 event.
Staff said they are assembling materials for a fall 2025 internship program for undergraduates pursuing aviation or airport management degrees and that application materials will be released soon.
