District reports summer projects complete except for elevator and casework; scoreboard debut planned

Facilities staff reported progress on summer projects including a new scoreboard with a public debut planned, camera installations, building renovations and elevator final inspection delays at Washington Elementary.
Facilities staff told the board that most summer projects are complete, with a small number of items carrying over past the first day of school. The group highlighted a new stadium scoreboard and invited the public to a short debut show next Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Doug Hamill provided a rapid update: the new scoreboard is operational; Washington Elementarythe elevator final inspection is scheduled for the first day of school and may delay full completion; the high school life-skills room is finished except for a shower enclosure; shrub removal and landscape work at Harrison are complete; doors and a platform at the high school have been replaced; and district camera and server upgrades are largely complete except for addition of 13 cameras at the high school and a few cameras at the district shop and transportation office.
Trustees thanked the maintenance and custodial teams for summer work. The board and staff said the scoreboard will be demonstrated with graphics and sound for a brief presentation at 7 p.m. next Tuesday near the field; trustees noted the scoreboard includes two time-clock displays, one of which will be portable for use at the trailer.
Facilities staff also reported a new gate behind Lincoln Middle School and replaced pavement areas. The board generally expressed satisfaction with summer progress and identified the elevator final inspection and a few finishing touches as items to be completed after school opens.
