County unveils refreshed website and new logo options; staff to finalize social and accessibility features

County IT staff previewed a refreshed Liberty County website Aug. 5, showing updated color palettes, logo options and improved accessibility features, and said departments will retain control to update their own pages under a monitored process.
The redesign is primarily cosmetic — staff said no underlying services were removed — but it includes usability and accessibility improvements such as a larger search box, an audio/contrast accessibility toggle and an updated layout for agendas, minutes, job listings and online services. IT showed how the new logo options would appear on social platforms and explained the technical reasons county outline shapes do not scale well into circular social icons.
Staff said each department will have a designated editor to post content, with IT monitoring before final publication to prevent misspellings or incorrect postings. Commissioners stressed the need for editorial review and a vetting step; IT said department content is managed by designated department users and that IT or a central reviewer will confirm posts before they go live.
The board praised the refreshed look and directed IT to proceed with social media rollouts and to explore optional online bill‑pay features with associated convenience fees. IT will provide department heads with guidance on bios and content updates and will finalize logo and decal work for county vehicles in coordination with corrections industries and public works.
