Jory Johnner, director of the Long Range Planning Group at the Wasatch Front Regional Council, presented an update on the 2027–2055 Regional Transportation Plan, focusing on the draft preferred scenario and the screening process used to evaluate projects. "We started last summer by testing some scenarios and gathering input from you all at the last, fall workshops," Johnner said, and described a multistep screening: concept collection, preliminary screening for viability and partner support, technical evaluation with travel model outputs, and phasing into 10-year blocks. Johnner said the RTP team is coordinating with UDOT and UTA to test roadway strategies, managed-lanes concepts, and multimodal transit networks; active-transportation projects are being filtered through the Beehive bikeways and Utah Trails processes. He asked committee members to review an online map of the draft preferred scenario and leave comments; a comment deadline and fall workshop schedule were provided in the presentation materials (meeting participants were asked to watch follow-up emails for specifics). "We're about halfway through our planning process," Johnner said, and added that staff will use the Utah Unified Transportation Plan financial model to fiscally constrain phased priorities in 2026. The presentation was informational; staff requested jurisdictional feedback to inform phasing and final project selection.
