"It's the only compact in the nation that is pre-k through workforce," Mr. Perry said, describing SREB's role and his expectations for bringing resources back to Broken Arrow Public Schools. He added that he had sent information to district staff earlier in the day on AI and teacher compensation.
Board members asked clarifying questions about the number of states in the compact; Perry confirmed the board represents 16 states. Mr. Perry said the appointment could give the district access to research and policy tools the compact develops and that the governor's involvement provides a voice for the state in regional conversations.
