Commissioners discussed county space needs and an offer to put the county’s planning building up for sale. Board members agreed the building should be marketed with an online auction option and proposed a minimum bid of $200,000.
One commissioner said, “I would be happier with that than I would be with a 150,000,” urging a higher minimum than the assessed value; the board discussed market value estimates and agreed an online auction with a minimum should proceed. The board instructed staff to work with the auditor and/or county administrator on sale logistics and to set the minimum and auction platform.
Separately, commissioners discussed courthouse office reconfiguration to house the coroner temporarily and to relocate district court offices and dispatch later. Staff reported Superior Court would clear items from a closet adjacent to the courtroom to allow temporary coroner use; district court could move into the auditor’s former office and configure the space with temporary partitions. Commissioners asked staff to obtain cost estimates before committing to any physical moves.
No final financial terms or sale dates were adopted at the meeting; commissioners asked staff to prepare details and quotes for moving, IT reconfiguration, and auction listing.
