The Columbia County Board of Commissioners authorized a contract concerning the prefabrication of the Tomlung Bridge structure and directed the chair to sign the agreement.

Staff presented the contract for the tunnel/timber structure and said fabrication will occur this year with storage and guaranteed delivery next year. A board member moved approval: “I would move that we approve the contract concerning the tunnel on…” The chair called for a voice vote on the motion. After the vote the chair said, “Motion carries.”

The staff memorandum accompanying the contract clarifies construction and storage arrangements and notes the county’s public‑works crews will perform the onsite work when delivered. No additional funding authorization was recorded at the meeting.

The board took the contract action during the regular meeting and the motion passed by voice vote; staff will provide the signed contract copies to the appropriate parties.
