The Plumas County Board of Supervisors approved a request from the county Social Services department on Aug. 12 to purchase a 2025 Toyota Tacoma, not to exceed $42,003.76, using realignment funds. The item required a four-fifths roll-call vote because it involved a fixed-asset purchase.
A Social Services representative explained the purchase had been brought forward previously but delayed because the originally quoted vehicle remained in a shipping container. The department said the vehicle is now in stock and could arrive within days if the board approved the purchase. The department described intended uses: moving foster children's furniture, assisting the public guardian with transports of conservatees and carrying a mass-shelter trailer under a memorandum of understanding with the state.
The board voted in favor by roll call and approved the purchase. No public comment was made on the item.
