Board backs county agreement with Trade Recovery Center for detox and recovery beds

Mariposa County supervisors approved a consent-agenda agreement on Aug. 5 to contract with Native Solutions, doing business as Trade Recovery Center, to provide recovery services in the county. Lisa Parker, executive director of Native Solutions (Trade Recovery Center), addressed the board during public comment to describe the organization's local services: a medically licensed detox program with 12 beds located in Bootjack, a 16-bedroom, 13-bath sober living facility in the Mid Pines area and an outpatient day center on Bullion. Parker said the detox level of care requires medical staff and that the program will create 24 full-time positions and add another 10 positions to support 24-hour coverage. Supervisor Jenny Kaiser read the contract item (CA 14) into the record and thanked Parker for opening the local facilities; the item authorizes an agreement not to exceed $115,351 for the Trade Recovery Center's recovery services. Kaiser and other supervisors expressed support for having locally based detox and recovery care and noted a ribbon-cutting grand opening scheduled for that evening at 5:30 p.m. County staff placed the agreement on the consent agenda; the consent motion to approve the consent agenda passed 4-0. The board did not take separate substantive policy action beyond approving the agreement and did not modify the contract terms during the meeting.
