Council accepts donated playground for Trader Park, waives related building fees

The Red Bluff City Council on Aug. 1 voted to accept a donated playground structure for Trader Park and to waive the related building permit fees, adopting resolution number 26-2025.
Parks staff said several local service organizations — including Rev Buff Rotary Club, Kiwanis, Sunrise Rotary, Latino Outreach and Soroptimist — donated the playground equipment after the intended recipient facility could not use it. Scott Miller presented the item and said staff had identified a site adjacent to existing playground equipment at Trader Park and recommended accepting the donation and waiving the associated building fees.
Miller said the organizations would coordinate the installation with a licensed specialty contractor and that staff would confirm use of a licensed contractor; the city will not manage the bidding process for the installation. Council members thanked the volunteer organizations for the donation and moved to adopt the resolution.
The motion to adopt Resolution No. 26-2025 passed unanimously. Installation will proceed with the donor organizations coordinating with a licensed installer and city staff providing coordination support.
