MAPC urges stronger municipal housing data and a statewide production dashboard

MAPC testimony: Adam Pletz, manager of Housing and Neighborhood Development at MAPC, highlighted H1543/S970, an act to improve municipal access to existing housing data. Pletz noted the FY26 budget includes an outside section requiring EOHLC to develop a housing production dashboard but said the bill would fill gaps — for example, accounting for units already completed and projecting how long units will remain affordable.
Committee follow‑up: Senators and representatives asked MAPC to follow up offline on overlaps between the bill and the GAA FY26 dashboard language; MAPC agreed to provide additional detail to staff.
Next steps: MAPC will submit written testimony with specifics and respond to staff questions about statutory differences and implementation.
