Commission approves warrant batch, votes to hold treasurer reimbursement for review

The Harvey County commission considered warrant checks on Aug. 12. A commissioner moved to hold a $208.09 reimbursement claim related to the treasurer’s office for further review pending counsel input; the motion to hold the single check passed by voice vote. After discussion, the board approved the remainder of the warrant batch. The recorded motion approved the warrant checks for the meeting date with the held check remaining active in the batch but withheld from release pending review. Commissioners agreed to revisit the held reimbursement at the next meeting. Treasurer Becky explained that a longstanding PO box (P.O. Box 909) is used to receive tax payments and that the box has been in use before her tenure; the county later confirmed a 2024 PO‑box charge of $248.40 when commissioners discussed Meridian Center costs earlier in the meeting.
