Clark Police Director Pat Grady addressed the council July 21 to warn about aggressive operating behavior by electric bicycles and to remind residents that state and municipal laws apply to those vehicles. Grady asked parents to speak with children and encouraged the public to call police when they observe dangerous operation. "There are laws to to follow... we encourage the public if they see this, please call the police," Grady said.
During public comment and council remarks, several residents and council members praised the police, fire department, volunteer emergency squad and DPW for their response to the recent storm. Mike Fogarty, Martha Kamitrov and others publicly defended the integrity of the police department and commended volunteers and staff for emergency assistance during flooding and other incidents.
Council members also relayed examples of emergency responses during the storm and other recent events and encouraged residents to contact police and emergency-management staff when they need help. The council highlighted the role of volunteers and paid personnel in protecting residents during floods and other hazards.
