The Holmdel Board of Education’s buildings and grounds update detailed multiple facility projects — including the Crawford’s Corner Road widening, roof repairs related to solar panels, unit ventilator work, ADA upgrades, and a playground renovation at Village School supported by community fundraising.

During the subcommittee report, Mr. Kim summarized ongoing infrastructure projects and told the board he expects the Crawford’s Corner Road widening to be finished by Aug. 29. Kim also said maintenance work continues on roofs and solar-panel systems and asked the community for patience while diagnostics and repairs proceed.

On the Village School playground, a speaker reported community fundraising that helped match a grant and said he had received a check “over $54,000.” The presentation noted the project may extend beyond the playground itself and could enable future expansions that improve ingress and egress near the school.

The buildings-and-grounds update also named additional planned work: an aquaponics lab renovation, unit ventilator replacements, ADA-compliance upgrades, technology enhancements and other maintenance activities ahead of the school year. The board encouraged continuing efforts to monitor student arrival and departure traffic at Village School and suggested pursuing future grant opportunities to address road access.
