Senator Womack explained the device "allows them to have controls, to be able to monitor their system... they wanna use it for the SCADA side to be able to manage their system, through technology." Heather Paul confirmed no new funds were being requested; the action repurposes existing project dollars.
With no objections, the committee approved the scope change. Division staff said they would confirm available balances and update the grant documents to reflect the purchase.
