Dodge City — The USD 443 Board of Education voted unanimously July 14 to adopt a corrected classified salary schedule for the 2025–26 year after human resources staff said an incorrect schedule had been submitted previously.
Tara Schroeder, representing human resources, told the board the schedule before them was the one the district’s financials had always been based on; she apologized for the earlier error and described the corrected schedule as budget neutral. Schroeder said the confusion arose while preparing payroll and that the corrected document aligns payroll and budgeting.
Board members asked few substantive questions and thanked HR for finalizing the schedule. A motion to approve the corrected schedule passed 6-0.
Why it matters: the classified salary schedule sets pay for noncertified staff across the district; adopting the corrected schedule ensures payroll matches the board‑approved budget.
Next steps: HR will proceed with payroll using the corrected schedule; Schroeder did not identify further follow-up tasks in the meeting.
