A selection committee that included Board members Michael Blankenship and Robin Pearman recommended on June 23 that Brent Renberger be reappointed to the Derby Recreation Commission (DRC) seat the school board fills.

Burke Jones, director of operations, said the DRC has five members, and two seats are appointed by the school board; one appointment was expiring. The committee interviewed two qualified candidates and recommended continuing Brent Renberger in the seat for another four-year term to maintain continuity amid upcoming projects.

Committee members said the alternate candidate was qualified and that the district will seek her involvement on other committees. There was no recorded objection and the recommendation proceeded as presented.
