Kirkleman apologized and asked to redo the public hearing to satisfy CDBG's strict notification requirements. The commission opened the hearing for 1012 Main Street, received no public comments, and a motion to close the public hearing was made by Commissioner Barrack and seconded by Commissioner Reuter. The commission voted "aye," and the hearing was closed.

Kirkleman characterized the action as a procedural redo to meet federal program requirements; no testimony was offered during the reopened hearing and the commission did not take further action on the grant at the meeting.
