Committee favorably reports House Bill 204 after unanimous vote

The Veterans and Military Development Committee voted to favorably report House Bill 204 following a roll call on a motion to recommend its passage.

Representative Carol Holmes, a member of the Veterans and Military Development Committee, moved “to favorably report House Bill 204 and recommend its passage.” The committee then conducted a roll call and Chair Richardson announced the result: “With 9 affirmative votes and no negative votes, HB204 is favourably reported out of committee.”

The committee clerk conducted the roll call after the motion. Members recorded as voting yes during the roll call included Chair Richardson; Ranking Member Hall; Representative Tavilla; Representative Willis; Representative Holmes; Representative Lampton; Representative Craig; Representative Lawson Rowe; and Representative Thomas. Vice Chair Matthews and Representative Santucci were excused. Members were asked to sign the committee report before leaving and to mark a star on the signature report if they wished to cosponsor the legislation.

There was no recorded amendment, nor was a second to the motion identified in the hearing record. The committee chair closed the fourth hearing on HB204 after members completed the signature instructions.

The committee opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and approved prior minutes without objection before taking up HB204.
