MORRISTOWN, N.J. — The Morris County Board of Commissioners on June 11 approved routine business including minutes, communications and a set of resolutions, authorized payment of county bills and adjourned after a meeting that drew no public speakers.
The board opened its regular meeting with roll call and the pledge of allegiance, approved minutes from its May 28 work session and regular meetings, and voted to approve three items of communication listed on the agenda. The board noted that no written public comments had been received in advance and that no one offered remarks during the public comment period. The board’s public-comment rules limit remarks to three minutes.
During the roll call on the resolutions, Commissioner Cabana registered an abstention on the item labeled 05/21 and voted yes on the remaining items. Commissioner Mastrangelo registered an abstention on the item labeled 05/2008 and voted yes on the rest. Commissioner Myers and the director voted yes to all resolutions called. Following those approvals, the board moved to authorize payment of the county’s bills; the roll call for that motion recorded yes votes from Commissioners Myers, Mastrangelo and Cabana and the director, and the motion passed.
With no further comments from commissioners and no public speakers, a motion to adjourn was made and seconded, and the meeting was ended by voice vote.
The board referenced a resolution adopted Jan. 3, 2025, that governs meeting notice procedures and the filing of meeting notices with the Morris County Clerk and the clerk of the board; it also noted that meeting notices were posted on the county website and sent to local media outlets. The board reiterated that members of the public may submit written comments by mail or email for meetings and that such comments are subject to the same three-minute limit if read during the meeting.
